Shy Supermoon

Superlluna a Barcelona, Port Olímpic

On Saturday May 5 it was expected to be a Supermoon, a phenomenon that occurs when the full moon is closest to earth in the course of its orbit. These days is when it can look bigger and brighter, and so I went to the Olympic Port of Barcelona, where I hoped to capture it between the masts of ships and reflected onto the water. But it could not be: a great wall of fog hid it from many people like me, who were waiting for it. So much expectation made it feel ashamed and was not seen until 21 minutes later, when I took this first photo (20:47, and rise time was 20:26) and it looked small and not so bright .

Photography sometimes gives us joy and other times take it from us, so we keep on looking forward to get the desired image. Maybe next time…
