Last fall I spent a few days wandering around New York City, taking photos of everything that catched my eye with my beloved Yashica Mat 124 G. Every one in a while, some stranger stopped me to ask all kinds of questions about the camera: Is it a real film camera or just a retro-looking digital? What kind of film does it use? Where did you buy it?… etc. Knowing that new yorkers are not specially known for their kind and subtle behavior (a completely unfair cliche, in my humble opinion) all these situations surprised me in a nice way.
And now, some shameless self-promotion: You can find a selection of the photographs I took in NYC in a small book called Noo Yawk Seereh, published through Blurb Books’ self-publishing service.
